Naveen can look to the future with hope

Three year old Naveen Kumar is a kindergarten student in the Primary School run by HOPE Foundation in Pudupattinam, near Chennai, India. He is the younger of two sons. His parents are Desingu and Thenmozhi, and they live in the tsunami rehabilitation home at Uyyalikuppam. His father is a fisherman.
At the time of admission, the school ensured that Naveen was taken to the government run primary health clinic where he was given the DPT (Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) shot, and OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine). Naveen will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Naveen gets all his other vaccinations on time.

At the time of admission, the school ensured that Maikannan was taken to the government run primary health clinic where he was given the DPT (Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) shot, and OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine). Sankar works as a laborer in a construction site, and Vimala is a helper in a hospital. Kavith has a younger brother, and his grandparents also live with them in their house in Periyar Nagar.

Desihgh is a fisherman and Chitra goes from door to door selling fish. Kavith has an older brother, Desappan, who also studies in school run by HOPE Foundation. The family resides in a tsunami rehabilitation house in Uyyalikuppam fisherman colony.

Keerthana doesn’t have a mother, but she faces her future with confidence

Three year old Keerthana is a kindergarten student in the Primary School run by HOPE Foundation in Pudupattinam, near Chennai, India. She is the only child of Chinnadurai and Madhavi. When she was one year old, her mother committed suicide after a family dispute, and she is now in the care of her grandparents. Her grandfather is a farmer, and they live in Raja Nagar colony.
At the time of admission, the school ensured that Keertana was taken to the government run primary health clinic where she was given the DPT (Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) shot, and OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine).
