Sandhiyavarshini has hope in her eyes

Sandhiyavarshini is 2yrs 4months old and is the youngest daughter of Purushothaman and Vennila. Her father is a contract worker, and she has an older sister who is studying in grade 2 in the primary school run by HOPE foundation in Pudupattinam. She resides in a tsunami rehabilitation home at Pudupattinam Kuppam.

Sandhiyavarshini is a nursery student in the Primary School run by HOPE Foundation in Pudupattinam, near Chennai, India. At the time of admission, the school ensured that Sandhiyavarshini was taken to the government run primary health clinic where all the necessary vaccinations were given to her, and her immunization chart brought upto date. She will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Sandhiyavarshini gets all her other vaccinations on time.
