Desiga gets a shot at life – Hope Foundation

Dear Dean and Julie,

Desiga is 2yrs 6 months old and is the youngest daughter of Venkatesan and Kayalvizhi. Her father is a fisherman, and her mother is a housewife. She has an older brother who studies in grade 1 in the primary school run by HOPE foundation in Pudupattinam. She resides in Pudupattinam Kuppam.

Desiga is a nursery student in the Primary School run by HOPE Foundation in Pudupattinam, near Chennai, India. At the time of admission, the school ensured that Desiga was taken to the government run primary health clinic where all the necessary vaccinations were given to her, and her immunization chart brought up to date. She will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Desiga gets all her other vaccinations on time.
