Yazhini is all smiles

Yazhini is 5 years old and is the older child of Rajenthran and Vanathi. Her father works in a fish farm, and she has a younger brother. She studies in grade 1 at the school run by Hope Foundation in Pudupattinam. The family lives in Pudupattinam Fisherman Colony.

At the time of admission, the school ensured that Yazhini was taken to the government run primary health clinic where all the necessary vaccinations were given to her, and her immunization chart brought up to date. She will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that she gets all her other vaccinations on time.
