Megadharsini is shielded from seven deadly illnesses

Megadharsini,  4 yrs old,  the oldest child, is enrolled in the 1st grade in Hope Foundation School. She has one younger brother in kindergarten in Hope School. Their father, Thirumal, is a fisherman, and their mother, Kalpan, sells fish in the nearby market. The family lives in Tsunami Rehabilitation Home in Pudupattinam.

At the time of admission, the school ensured that Megadharsini was taken to the government run primary health clinic where all the necessary vaccinations were given to her, and her immunization chart brought up to date. She will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Megadharsini gets all her other vaccinations on time.
