Nilima is safe from illness

NIVEDHA
Dear Elizabeth,

Four year old Nilima*  is a student in Grade 1 in the primary school run by HOPE foundation in Pudupattinam. Her father, Umapathy, is a fisherman and her mother, Kalaivani, is a sweeper. She has one sister in Grade 3. The father’s alcoholism siphons away the earnings and keeps him away from work, so the mother works to support the family of four. She resides in Tsunami Rehabilitation home.

At the time of admission, the school ensured that Nilima was taken to the Government-run primary health clinic where all the necessary vaccinations were given to her, and her immunization chart brought up to date. She will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Nilima gets all her other vaccinations on time.

Your donation, Elizabeth, will ensure that Nilima remains protected against seven deadly illnesses all her life.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for your generosity.
