Prakathieswari is safe all her life

Prakathieswari is 5 yrs old and is the youngest child. Her father, Viswanathan, is a fisherman, and her mother is a housewife. She resides in a Tsunami rehabilitation home in Uyyalikuppam.

Prakathieswari is a student of Grade 1 in the School run by HOPE Foundation in Pudupattinam, near Chennai, India. At the time of admission, the school ensured that Prakathieswari was taken to the government run primary health clinic where all the necessary vaccinations were given to her, and her immunization chart brought up to date. She will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Prakathieswari gets all her other vaccinations on time.
