Sukesh is safe from seven deadly illnesses

Four year old Sukesh lives in a tsunami rehabilitation home at Uyyalikuppam fishermen colony. He is the youngest son of Karunakaran and Sasikala. Karunakaran is fisherman and Sasikal is housewife. Sukesh also has an elder brother.

Sukesh is a lower kindergarten student in the Primary School run by HOPE Foundation in Pudupattinam, near Chennai, India. At the time of admission, the school ensured that Sukesh was taken to the government run primary health clinic where he was given the DPT (Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) shot, and OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine). Sukesh will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Sukesh gets all his other vaccinations on time.
