Three year old Naveen Kumar is a kindergarten student in the Primary School run by HOPE Foundation in Pudupattinam, near Chennai, India. He is the younger of two sons. His parents are Desingu and Thenmozhi, and they live in the tsunami rehabilitation home at Uyyalikuppam. His father is a fisherman.
At the time of admission, the school ensured that Naveen was taken to the government run primary health clinic where he was given the DPT (Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) shot, and OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine). Naveen will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Naveen gets all his other vaccinations on time.
Your donation, Katelyn, will ensure that Naveen remains protected against seven deadly illnesses all his life.
