Three year old Vaishnavi is a kindergarten student in the Primary School run by HOPE Foundation in Pudupattinam, near Chennai, India. She is the eldest daughter of Vadivel, a fisherman, and Devi, a housewife, and resides in a tsunami rehabilitation house. Her younger brother and grandmother make up the other members of her family.
At the time of admission, the school ensured that Vaishnavi was taken to the government run primary health clinic where she was given the DPT (Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) shot, and OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine). Vaishnavi will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Vaishnavi gets all her other vaccinations on time.
Your donation, George, will ensure that Vaishnavi remains protected against seven deadly illnesses all her life.
