She has a brother who is two years older than her and enrolled in grade 3 at the school run by Hope Foundation, where she is studying in grade 1. The family lives in Tsunami Rehabilitation Home in Uyyalikuppam.
At the time of admission, the school ensured that Sahana was taken to the government run primary health clinic where all the necessary vaccinations were given to her, and her immunization chart brought up to date. She will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. A primary health worker will also be visiting the school periodically, to ensure that Sahana gets all her other vaccinations on time.

At the time of admission, the school ensured that Indupriya was taken to the government run primary health clinic where all the necessary vaccinations were given to her, and her immunization chart brought up to date. She will continue receiving OPV whenever there is a pulse polio drive. She has one older sister who lives with their maternal grandmother. Following a heated family dispute, Vishwathara’s mother, Seetha, committed suicide.
